Miniforms

Miniforms – Contemporary Italian Furniture with Personality

Miniforms approaches Italian furniture with a little less formality than you might expect. Colour, unusual proportions, tactile materials and playful details give the collection a recognisable character without losing sight of craftsmanship or everyday function.

Across dining tables, chairs, coffee tables, storage, upholstered seating and lighting, familiar furniture types are reworked through sculptural forms and unexpected combinations of wood, glass, ceramic, metal and upholstery.

An Italian Furniture Story that Began Near Venice

The Miniforms story began in Meolo, north of Venice, at the end of the 1960s with Luigi Bardini. After initially working as a sales representative, Bardini moved into wooden furniture production and became the driving force behind the company that developed into Miniforms.

Over the following decades, the business developed from furniture manufacturing into an international contemporary design brand, while retaining its connection to the craft traditions and specialist makers of its region.

A New Generation from 2009

In 2009, Luigi Bardini handed Miniforms to his sons Alessandro, Matteo and Mario.

The change brought a stronger emphasis on younger designers, colour and more unconventional forms, helping develop the distinctive contemporary identity now associated with Miniforms furniture.

Bold, Bright and a Little Bizarre

Miniforms describes its personality through three ideas: bold, bright and bizarre.

That does not mean excess for its own sake. The brand often begins with a relatively simple furniture type, then introduces one unexpected element — exaggerated legs, unusual colour, sculptural glass, a distinctive material or a playful change in proportion.

Italian Craftsmanship Across Wood, Glass and Ceramic

Craft remains central to the way Miniforms produces furniture. The company works with specialist carpenters, glassmakers, ceramic makers and upholsterers, combining established skills with contemporary manufacturing where appropriate.

This variety of expertise allows the collection to move from precise timber furniture to hand-worked ceramics and substantial blown-glass pieces without relying on one material or one visual language.

Miniforms Dining Tables

Dining tables form one of the strongest parts of the RB12 Miniforms collection, with designs ranging from more restrained timber structures to highly sculptural statement tables.

Current RB12 designs include Acco, Decapo and Nami alongside several versions of the Bonbon table, allowing the collection to work across both compact dining spaces and much larger rooms.

The Miniforms Acco Dining Table

Acco is one of the more architectural dining tables within the RB12 collection, using a repeated arrangement of timber elements through the base to create a strong rhythm beneath the tabletop.

RB12 offers Acco in round and generous rectangular formats, with timber base options including Ash, Black Ash, Canaletto Walnut and Flamed Oak.

The Bonbon Table Collection

Bonbon takes a much softer and more exaggerated approach to the dining table, replacing conventional slender supports with substantial rounded forms.

RB12 offers Bonbon across round, two-leg and three-leg configurations, giving the same sculptural design language several different proportions for residential and larger dining spaces.

The broad choice of lacquer colours also demonstrates Miniforms' confidence with colour, allowing Bonbon to move from a quiet neutral table to a much stronger focal point.

Soda – Sculptural Blown Glass

The Soda collection is one of Miniforms' most recognisable explorations of material and traditional craft.

Designed by Yiannis Ghikas, each Soda table is formed from a single volume of blown glass and shaped by three master glassmakers. Its hammered surface breaks up the transparency of the glass, while three petal-like forms emerge from the same continuous volume to create the base.

At RB12, Soda is available as both coffee and side-table proportions in expressive translucent colours, allowing it to function as both furniture and a sculptural glass object.

Coffee Tables and Side Tables

Miniforms occasional tables range from transparent blown-glass statement pieces to warmer ceramic and timber designs.

The RB12 collection includes Soda alongside Mila, Milo and Nami, providing very different ways to introduce Miniforms into a living room without committing to one of the brand's larger pieces.

The Miniforms Nami Coffee Table extends the same family as the Nami dining table and bench, while Milo brings the tactile quality of fired terracotta into the living space.

Miniforms Chairs and Armchairs

The Miniforms seating collection applies the same willingness to experiment with shape to dining chairs and lounge seating.

At RB12, designs include Amia, Iola Socks and Cubola alongside the more relaxed Amiona Armchair, moving from dining seating into upholstered living-room furniture.

Different upholstery, timber and finish options make these chairs particularly useful where seating needs to introduce colour or texture around a more restrained table.

Storage with a More Expressive Character

Miniforms also applies its approach to storage furniture, where cabinet fronts, materials and opening mechanisms can become part of the visual identity rather than being hidden.

The Container Up Sideboard sold by RB12 uses a strongly graphic slatted frontage and can be specified across lacquer, timber and more decorative top finishes, creating a more expressive alternative to conventional low storage.

Furniture for Living Spaces and Home Offices

The RB12 Miniforms range now extends beyond dining furniture into sofas, armchairs and home-office pieces.

The Nebulone Sofa introduces a fully upholstered format into the collection, while the Bonbon Desk translates the softer sculptural forms of the Bonbon family into a contemporary workspace.

This makes Miniforms particularly interesting where an office sits within a bedroom, living room or open-plan space and the desk needs to feel like furniture rather than purely functional equipment.

Miniforms Lighting

Lighting has become another important part of the Miniforms collection at RB12, extending the brand's use of colour, glass and sculptural form beyond furniture.

Current RB12 lighting includes Lucerama floor and pendant designs, the Rificolona table lamp and pendant lighting such as Baso and Muna.

Used alongside Miniforms furniture, these pieces can repeat the brand's more playful visual language throughout the room without relying on identical materials or forms.

Designed Through Collaboration

Miniforms works with an international group of designers rather than relying on one fixed design language.

Its current collaborators include Paolo Cappello, E-ggs, Francesco Faccin, Fabio Fantolino, Yiannis Ghikas, Alain Gilles, Florian Schmid, Skrivo, Yonoh Studio, Zaven and Matteo Zorzenoni, alongside a wider group of contributing designers.

That variety helps explain why the collection can move comfortably from blown glass and upholstered seating to expressive dining tables, timber furniture and contemporary lighting.

Choosing Miniforms at RB12

Many Miniforms pieces are highly configurable, with size, timber, lacquer, stone, ceramic and upholstery options changing considerably from one design to another.

The RB12 team can help compare dimensions, finishes and materials when specifying a Miniforms dining table, chair, storage piece or lighting design for your home or project.
