Description
Natural Timber with a Sculptural Presence
The Bazar Bizar Madero Coffee Table brings together the warmth of natural timber and a strong, contemporary silhouette. Handmade from suar wood, its substantial form gives the table a grounded presence while the black finish creates a more dramatic and architectural expression.
Rather than hiding the natural character of the material, Madero allows grain, knots, tonal shifts and subtle imperfections to remain visible. These variations are part of what makes each table individual.
Handmade from Suar Wood
Suar wood is central to the character of the Madero Coffee Table. The timber has a naturally expressive grain and, as a living material, can respond to changes in humidity and temperature over time.
Small cracks, knots and differences in colour should therefore be seen as part of the natural beauty of the piece rather than manufacturing defects. Combined with the handmade production process, these characteristics mean that no two Madero tables will look completely identical.
A Deep Black Finish
The black finish gives Madero a more graphic, contemporary character while retaining the underlying texture and individuality of the timber. It allows the table to create a strong focal point without relying on ornament or decorative detailing.
Against pale upholstery, natural rugs and lighter timber floors, the black surface provides contrast and definition. Within darker or more tonal interiors, it creates a quieter, monolithic look that allows the shape of the table to take centre stage.
Compact Proportions, Substantial Character
Measuring 61 x 61 x 40 cm, the Madero Coffee Table offers a useful living-room surface without requiring the footprint of a much larger centre table.
Its 40 cm height works naturally alongside contemporary sofas and armchairs, while the 20.5 kg weight reinforces the sense of substance created by the timber construction.
Designed for Relaxed Contemporary Interiors
Madero works particularly well in interiors that combine simple furniture forms with tactile natural materials. Pair the black timber with linen, wool, leather, stone and warmer woods to create a layered scheme with plenty of texture.
Its compact scale also makes it useful where a conventional oversized coffee table would dominate the seating area. The strong black finish provides visual impact, while the natural timber keeps the design from feeling cold or overly polished.
Handmade in Indonesia
The Madero Coffee Table is handmade in Indonesia as part of Bazar Bizar’s collection of furniture and accessories shaped by natural materials and traditional craftsmanship.
The name Madero comes from the Spanish word for wood or timber, reflecting the importance of the material itself to the character of the design. Instead of creating a perfectly uniform surface, the table celebrates the natural irregularities that make timber visually distinctive.

Caring for the Bazar Bizar Madero Coffee Table
For regular cleaning, remove dust using a soft cloth or brush. When deeper cleaning is required, wipe the suar wood gently with a damp cloth and mild soap before drying the surface thoroughly. Avoid soaking the timber or allowing excessive moisture to remain on the table.
Bazar Bizar recommends applying a protective oil approximately once a year to help revive the colour and protect the wood. The table is intended for indoor use only and should be protected from extreme dryness, significant changes in humidity and excessive moisture.
Because suar wood is a natural material, it can expand and contract over time. Small cracks, knots and changes in appearance are therefore a natural characteristic of the timber and contribute to the individual character of each table.
