SONO was designed by Nina Thöming for Blomus, combining clean functionality with softer forms and proportions intended to bring a more relaxed character to everyday bathroom accessories.
The pedal bin follows the same understated approach as the wider SONO range, allowing practical objects around the bathroom to feel coordinated rather than purely functional.
Hands-Free Pedal Operation
A foot-operated pedal allows the lid to be opened without touching it by hand, making SONO particularly practical beside the basin, toilet or vanity area.
The simple mechanism makes disposing of tissues, cotton pads and other everyday bathroom waste quick and hygienic.
Soft-Close Lid
SONO incorporates a soft-close mechanism that allows the lid to return gently and quietly after use.
It is a small detail that makes a noticeable difference in everyday use, avoiding the sharp sound associated with many conventional pedal bins and reinforcing the calm character of the SONO collection.
Removable Inner Bucket
Inside the pedal bin is a removable plastic bucket designed to make emptying and routine cleaning easier.
The separate inner container helps keep the outer SONO body looking clean and considered while simplifying everyday maintenance.
Compact 3-Litre Size
The 3-litre SONO Pedal Bin is the more compact option, ideal for guest WCs, smaller bathrooms and vanity areas where floor space is limited.
It measures approximately 24 cm long, 19–20 cm wide and 25 cm high depending on the selected finish, giving it a small footprint while still providing practical capacity for everyday bathroom waste.
Larger 5-Litre Size
For bathrooms that require a little more capacity, the 5-litre version offers additional space while retaining the same rounded SONO silhouette.
Most current 5-litre versions measure approximately 28 x 23 x 30 cm, making them well suited to main bathrooms, family bathrooms and larger vanity areas.
Durable Plastic and Silicone
The SONO Pedal Bin is made from durable plastic with silicone elements, creating an easy-care surface with the soft, matt feel characteristic of the collection.

Caring for the Blomus SONO Pedal Bin
Blomus recommends cleaning the SONO Pedal Bin with a damp cloth. The removable inner bucket can be taken out separately for easier everyday cleaning.
Do not soak the outer bin and avoid abrasive cleaning products or acidic substances, which may affect the surface.
