The Blomus LOOP Kitchen Roll Holder takes a simple everyday kitchen object and improves the details that normally make it frustrating to use. A weighted base keeps the holder stable, while an internal spring system keeps the kitchen roll centred as sheets are pulled away.

LOOP was designed by Nina Thöming, an industrial designer working with German studio Flöz Design.
Her approach begins with the practical requirements of an everyday object before resolving those functions into a cleaner visual form. That thinking is especially clear with LOOP, where the most important details — stability, control and ease of use — are incorporated directly into the minimalist structure.
A Weighted Base That Stays Put
One of LOOP’s most useful features is its weighted stainless-steel base. At approximately 1.81 kg, the holder has enough substance to resist tipping as kitchen paper is pulled from the roll.
The underside is also rubberised, providing additional grip while helping protect the worktop beneath it.
This means LOOP does not need to be held down with one hand while paper is removed with the other — particularly useful when cooking, cleaning or preparing food.
Spring-Loaded to Keep the Roll Centred
Two integrated springs on the central rod hold the kitchen roll securely in position rather than allowing it to move loosely from side to side.
Keeping the roll centred helps the paper unwind more consistently and works together with the weighted base to make one-handed use considerably easier.
A Side Arm for Controlled Tearing
A slim stainless-steel arm rests against the outside of the kitchen roll. The upper section is protected with a coating where it comes into contact with the paper.
This arm helps control the roll as individual sheets are pulled away, preventing the paper from unravelling freely across the worktop and helping create a cleaner tear.
Powder-Coated Stainless Steel
Current coloured versions of LOOP are made from powder-coated stainless steel, giving the holder the durability of metal while allowing it to sit naturally within Blomus’ softer contemporary colour palette.
The Silver version retains a more traditional stainless-steel appearance, while Black and Moonbeam create darker or warmer alternatives for kitchens where exposed metallic finishes are less appropriate.

Silver gives the design its most recognisably stainless-steel appearance, Black creates a stronger graphic contrast, while Moonbeam offers a softer warm-neutral finish that works naturally with pale stone, timber and contemporary kitchen cabinetry.

LOOP or COLO?
RB12 also offers the Blomus COLO Kitchen Roll Holder, providing a simpler alternative within the Blomus kitchen-accessory collection.
COLO also uses a weighted, non-slip base, but LOOP adds the spring-loaded central mechanism and supporting side arm designed specifically to improve control when paper is pulled from the roll.
Choose LOOP when one-handed dispensing and controlled tearing are the priority. Consider COLO when you prefer a simpler, more pared-back holder and do not need the additional spring mechanism.
LOOP or WIRES?
For the simplest Blomus approach, the Blomus WIRES Kitchen Roll Holder uses an open powder-coated steel-wire structure with the roll simply placed over the centre.
WIRES is lighter in both appearance and construction and is particularly easy to pick up and move. LOOP is the more engineered option, with its heavier base, twin springs and side arm providing greater stability during everyday use.
The choice comes down to whether you value visual simplicity or more controlled one-handed operation.
