Grand Life was designed by Christophe Pillet for Ethimo, with a focus on relaxed outdoor living, generous ergonomics and a visual language closer to refined indoor lounge furniture than traditional garden seating.
The collection is characterised by simple lines, soft cushioning and carefully balanced materials, creating furniture that feels elegant without becoming formal.
Generous 240 cm XL Proportions
At 240 cm long and 110 cm deep, the Grand Life XL Sofa has the scale to anchor a substantial outdoor lounge arrangement.
Its generous width creates plenty of room for relaxed seating, while the 41 cm seat height keeps the proportions comfortable and practical for everyday use.
Teak and Woven Round Rope
The structure combines teak with woven round rope, balancing the natural warmth of timber with a lighter and more decorative backrest.
Ethimo offers the sofa in Natural Teak with Light Grey Rope or Pickled Teak with Taupe Rope, giving the same design two distinct expressions for different outdoor schemes.
Inspired by Traditional Vienna Straw
The woven back is one of the defining details of the Grand Life collection. Its refined rope pattern references traditional Vienna straw weaving, reinterpreted using materials suited to contemporary outdoor furniture.
This detail gives the rear and sides of the sofa as much visual interest as the front, making Grand Life particularly effective in open terraces and larger gardens where the furniture can be viewed from several directions.
Soft Cushions Designed for Outdoor Use
Large seat and back cushions soften the structured teak frame and create the deep, welcoming comfort that defines the Grand Life collection.
The cushions are specifically designed for outdoor use and are fully removable, making the sofa easier to maintain while retaining the softer appearance of indoor-style upholstery.
Three Cushion Finishes
The Grand Life XL Sofa is available with cushion options in Acrylic Nature White, Acrylic Nature Grey and Polypropylene Corda.
Nature White creates the lightest and most classic outdoor expression, Nature Grey gives the seating a cooler neutral tone, while Corda introduces a warmer natural shade that works especially well alongside teak and earthy exterior materials.
Natural Teak or Pickled Teak
Natural Teak with Light Grey Rope brings the warmth and grain of the timber to the forefront, making it particularly suited to gardens and terraces where natural materials form part of the wider scheme.
Pickled Teak with Taupe Rope creates a softer, more weathered appearance, giving the sofa a slightly more understated and tonal character from the outset.
FSC™ Certified Outdoor Furniture
Ethimo lists the Grand Life XL Sofa as an FSC™ certified product, adding an important material certification to a design already created specifically for long-term outdoor use.

Caring for the Ethimo Grand Life XL Sofa
Ethimo recommends regularly washing teak with water to remove surface dirt and impurities. For more persistent marks, clean dry timber gently with a soft sponge and mild soap diluted in water.
Natural teak will gradually change appearance when exposed outdoors. Ethimo offers dedicated teak revitaliser and nourishing teak oil for cleaning, restoring and protecting the wood when required.
Pickled teak requires different maintenance from natural teak. Ethimo provides specific cleaning products and a two-step restoration kit designed to help maintain or recover the original pickled finish.
Follow the care instructions supplied with the selected outdoor cushion fabric and allow cushions to dry thoroughly before storing or covering the sofa.
