Description
A Softer Scandinavian Bioethanol Fireplace
The Le Feu Eye White Bioethanol Fireplace combines a genuine open flame with a rounded freestanding body designed to sit naturally within contemporary interiors.
Part of the wider Le Feu fireplace collection at RB12, Eye White is the quietest visual interpretation currently available through RB12, allowing the fire itself to provide much of the contrast and movement.
Its pale finish makes it particularly natural within Scandinavian, neutral and light-toned interiors where a black fireplace might introduce more contrast than the room requires.
White Lets the Flame Take Centre Stage
The White Eye changes the balance between the fireplace and the flame.
Rather than surrounding the fire with the strong dark outline of Eye Black or the reflective metallic surface of Eye Silver, the white body sits more quietly against pale walls and neutral furnishings.
That makes Eye White especially useful when you want a real fireplace to feel integrated into the room rather than deliberately contrasting with it.
Designed in Denmark
Le Feu’s Eye collection is designed in Denmark and built around a distinctly Scandinavian combination of simple geometry, customisable finishes and practical freestanding use.
The smooth rounded form gives the fireplace a recognisable identity without copying the appearance of a conventional stove or rectangular built-in hearth.
A Genuine Bioethanol Flame
Eye burns liquid bioethanol to create a genuine open flame rather than an electric flame effect.
Because the burner does not rely on a traditional wood-burning chimney or gas supply, the freestanding Eye can be considered for rooms where installing a conventional fireplace would be impractical.
It remains a real combustion appliance and must always be operated according to Le Feu’s current instructions regarding ventilation, safe clearances, fuel handling and supervision.
Approximately 2.8 kW of Heat
RB12 currently specifies the Eye collection with a heat output of approximately 2.8 kW.
The fire therefore provides genuine supplementary warmth as well as atmosphere, rather than functioning purely as a decorative flame.
As with any supplementary fireplace, suitability for heating a particular room depends on room volume, insulation, ventilation and other conditions, so Eye should not automatically be treated as a replacement for a correctly sized primary heating system.
1.6-Litre Burner and Around 4.5 Hours of Flame
RB12 lists Eye with a 1.6-litre burner and an approximate burning time of 4.5 hours.
Actual burn duration can vary according to conditions and the way the flame is regulated, so the figure should be treated as an approximate operating time rather than a guaranteed duration for every use.
Always use approved bioethanol and follow the current fuel and operating instructions supplied with the fireplace.
SafeBurn Technology
Le Feu’s current Eye specification uses its SafeBurn technology, with a ceramic-fibre insert that absorbs the liquid fuel within the burner.
This forms part of the current burner design and helps keep the fuel contained during normal operation.
SafeBurn does not remove the normal precautions associated with an open flame: never refill a burning or hot burner and always operate Eye according to the current Le Feu instructions.
Compact Freestanding Proportions
RB12 currently lists Eye White at approximately:
- Width: 58 cm
- Depth: 48 cm
- Height: approximately 84 cm
- Weight: approximately 24 kg
The compact 58 × 48 cm footprint makes Eye considerably easier to integrate into a contemporary living room than a traditional fireplace surround or chimney breast.
Its freestanding construction also allows the fireplace to be repositioned when completely extinguished and cool, provided its new position meets all manufacturer clearance and ventilation requirements.
White or Rose Gold Detailing
RB12’s current Eye White page offers a deliberately focused set of finish combinations:
- Top Glass: White
- Front Glass: White or Rose Gold
- Legs: White or Rose Gold
Choosing White throughout creates the cleanest and most monochrome version of the Eye.
Rose Gold detailing introduces a warmer metallic contrast and can connect the fireplace with lighting, handles and other warm-metal accents within the room.
Eye White in a Neutral Interior
Eye White is particularly effective where the existing palette is built around off-whites, creams, pale greys, beige upholstery, light oak and natural stone.
The pale fireplace body avoids introducing a heavy dark object into the scheme, while the moving orange flame supplies warmth and contrast when the fireplace is lit.
That makes White a strong choice where the aim is to add atmosphere without disrupting a deliberately restrained colour palette.
A Fireplace for Scandinavian Interiors
The White Eye also fits naturally within Scandinavian-inspired interiors where pale surfaces, simple forms and natural materials carry more visual importance than heavy decorative detailing.
Pairing the White finish with light timber furniture allows the curved fireplace form and the flame to provide interest without competing with the rest of the furniture arrangement.
Designed to Be Seen from Different Angles
Eye’s rounded body means the fireplace does not depend on a single flat front elevation in the way many conventional fireplaces do.
Its curved profile remains visually considered when approached from different positions within the room, making the design particularly appropriate for open-plan layouts or furniture arrangements where the fireplace is visible from more than one direction.
Eye White or Eye Black?
For a stronger, more graphic version of the same fireplace, compare White with the Le Feu Eye Black Bioethanol Fireplace.
Eye Black creates a distinct dark silhouette, especially against pale walls, and makes the fireplace body itself a much more prominent element in the room.
Choose Black when contrast and definition are important. Choose White when you want the fireplace to blend more gently into a pale or neutral scheme and allow the flame to provide the strongest contrast.
Eye White or Eye Silver?
For a more expressive metallic version, compare White with the Le Feu Eye Silver Bioethanol Fireplace.
Silver has a reflective surface that catches both the flame and surrounding light, making the fireplace body much more visually active.
White is the better choice when the room calls for a quieter and more integrated fireplace. Silver works when the fireplace itself should operate as a stronger decorative statement.
Eye White or Dome Ground Low?
For a Le Feu fireplace with stronger furniture references, compare Eye with the Le Feu Dome Ground Low.
Ground Low supports its open elliptical Dome on three short legs and feels closely related to Scandinavian lounge furniture, particularly when specified with oak.
Eye has a more enclosed, rounded body and a stronger object-like presence. Choose Ground Low when the fireplace should feel more obviously furniture-led; choose Eye White for a compact sculptural form that can blend quietly into a pale interior.
Using the Eye Safely
Eye produces a genuine open flame and must always be treated as a real fireplace.
Use only approved bioethanol and ensure the burner is cold before adding fuel. Never add bioethanol while a flame is present or while the burner remains hot.
Le Feu’s current user guidance requires room ventilation during use and instructs users to allow the burner to cool before refilling. Keep children and pets safely away and never leave an operating fireplace unattended.
Always follow the installation, clearance and operating instructions supplied with the exact Eye fireplace and burner delivered to you.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Allow the fireplace to cool completely before cleaning.
Le Feu recommends cleaning painted surfaces with a soft, lint-free damp cloth once the fireplace has cooled.
Avoid abrasive cleaning products or materials that could mark the White finish, and always follow the care guidance supplied with your specific fireplace and finish configuration.
