Sculptural Form in Solid Oak
The Tamo Design Bold Side Table reduces furniture to three clear geometric volumes. Rounded elements intersect to form the tabletop and base, creating a piece that feels simple at first glance but reveals more of its shape as you move around it.
The entire design is built around circular geometry, with changing diameters creating a silhouette reminiscent of the cross-section of a tree trunk. This connection between form and material gives Bold a strong sculptural presence while keeping the overall composition restrained.
Designed by Marcin Laskowski
Bold was designed by Marcin Laskowski, founder and creative director of Tamo Design. His work combines traditional woodworking knowledge with an experimental approach to form, drawing influences from Gdynia modernism and Northern European minimalism.
Rather than adding decoration to the surface, Bold creates its character through proportion. Three intersecting elements are carefully balanced so that the table feels expressive while remaining familiar enough to sit naturally within a contemporary living room.
Crafted Entirely from Solid Oak
The Bold Side Table is made entirely from high-quality solid oak and finished with lacquer. Using one material throughout gives the design visual continuity and allows the natural character of the timber to remain central to the finished piece.
Natural Oak highlights the grain and warmth of the wood, while Dark Oak gives the same sculptural form a deeper and more architectural appearance.
RB12 also offers Bold in Black, Burgundy and Cobalt, allowing the table to move from understated solid-wood furniture to a much stronger colour accent while retaining the same underlying oak construction.
Three Intersecting Volumes
The Bold collection is defined by the relationship between geometric forms rather than decorative detailing. The side table combines three rounded volumes into one compact composition, creating subtle shifts in diameter from top to base.
This approach gives the table its distinctive silhouette from every angle. The shape feels substantial without becoming visually complicated, making Bold particularly effective in interiors where relatively few pieces of furniture are expected to make a strong statement.
A Tall Side Table for Sofas and Armchairs
At 60cm high, Bold sits taller than many conventional coffee tables. This makes it particularly useful beside a sofa or lounge chair, where the tabletop can remain within comfortable reach without occupying the central floor space of the seating arrangement.
Its compact footprint of approximately 43 × 40cm allows it to work in tighter living rooms, reading corners and alongside individual armchairs.

Choosing a Bold Finish
Natural Oak emphasises the warmth and grain of the solid timber and gives Bold its most understated expression.
Dark Oak retains the visible wood character while creating greater contrast within lighter interiors.
Black makes the silhouette more graphic and architectural, while Burgundy introduces a rich, warm colour that works particularly well with natural timber, cream upholstery and earthy interiors.
Cobalt provides the strongest colour statement within the current RB12 selection, turning the table into a deliberate accent piece.

Caring for the Tamo Design Bold Side Table
Clean the lacquered oak using a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry the surface afterwards. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and prolonged exposure to moisture.
Use coasters beneath hot or wet items and wipe spills promptly to help preserve the lacquered finish and natural timber beneath.
