Description
Sculptural Wood and Metal in Balance
The Cattelan Italia Adrian Wood Coffee Table combines the natural warmth of timber with a finely sculpted metal base, creating a design that feels expressive without becoming visually heavy.
Soft, irregular geometries define the tabletop, while the slender conical base introduces a sharper architectural contrast beneath it.
Designed by Paolo Cattelan
Adrian Wood was designed by Paolo Cattelan and introduced in 2025 as part of Cattelan Italia’s contemporary coffee-table collection.
The design focuses on a balance between originality and clean lines, allowing the tables to feel distinctive while remaining easy to integrate into a refined modern interior.
Canaletto Walnut and Burned Oak
The wooden top is available in two contrasting combinations: Canaletto Walnut with Burned Oak detailing, or Burned Oak with Canaletto Walnut detailing.
Rather than using a single uniform timber finish, Adrian Wood introduces a contrasting inlay that emphasises the geometry of the top and makes the natural material an important decorative feature.
Soft Irregular Geometry
The Adrian Wood tabletop moves away from conventional circles, squares and rectangles in favour of a softer irregular outline.
Bevelled edges refine the silhouette further, helping the table appear lighter while drawing attention to the shape and craftsmanship of the timber top.
A Sculptural Conical Steel Base
The tabletop is supported by a conical steel base proportioned to suit each size of table. Constructed from two rolled and overlapping steel sheets, the base is shaped by diagonal cuts that give it a slender and dynamic silhouette.
Available in Titanium or Bronze embossed lacquered steel, the base provides a strong architectural counterpoint to the warmth and natural grain of the wood above.
Three Shapes and Three Heights
Adrian Wood is available in three different tabletop footprints, each offered at 28 cm, 38 cm or 48 cm high.
The compact 90 x 90 cm version provides a generous central surface without requiring a long footprint. The 118 x 78 cm version has a more elongated organic shape, while the largest 180 x 90 cm table creates a substantial focal point for larger sofas and lounge arrangements.
Designed to Be Layered
One of the defining qualities of Adrian Wood is the ability to combine different sizes and heights within the same seating area.
Positioning two or more tables together creates an arrangement of overlapping surfaces at different levels, adding depth and movement while maintaining a consistent material and design language.
Use One as a Statement Piece
Adrian Wood does not need to be grouped to make an impact. Each size has enough sculptural character to work as a standalone coffee or occasional table.
The smaller versions can sit beside or in front of a sofa, while the 180 cm model has the scale to properly anchor a generous contemporary lounge setting.
Warm Timber for Contemporary Interiors
The combination of wood and metal makes Adrian particularly easy to introduce into contemporary interiors. Canaletto Walnut provides a warmer and more refined expression, while Burned Oak creates a darker and more architectural look.
Both versions work naturally alongside upholstered sofas, textured rugs, stone and other timber finishes, allowing Adrian Wood to act as either a subtle material link or a stronger focal point.

Caring for the Cattelan Italia Adrian Wood Coffee Table
For everyday care, remove dust from the wooden top using a soft dry cloth. Wipe spills promptly and avoid leaving standing moisture on the timber surface.
Use coasters or protective pads beneath drinks, hot objects and decorative accessories to help preserve the finish. Avoid abrasive pads and aggressive chemical cleaning products.
The embossed lacquered steel base can be dusted with a soft cloth and wiped gently with a slightly damp cloth when required before drying.
