A Side Table with Sculptural Presence
The Saba Italia Teatro Magico Side Table transforms a practical occasional table into a sculptural feature for the living room. Its flowing, irregular form is inspired by the sinuous base of the Teatro Magico dining table, translating the same sense of movement into a smaller and more versatile piece.
Rather than relying on conventional straight lines and separate legs, Teatro Magico is conceived as a continuous volume. The shape creates visual movement from every angle and allows the table to feel expressive even when left almost completely unstyled.

Teatro Magico was designed for Saba Italia by 967arch. Introduced in 2023, the low-table collection develops the design language of the original Teatro Magico table, retaining its fluid, theatrical base and distinctive sculptural character.
The design is intentionally expressive but not decorative for decoration’s sake. The personality comes from the changing curves, proportions and finish, giving the table a strong presence while keeping the overall silhouette clean.
Two Shapes, Two Heights
The Teatro Magico collection is available in two different volumes and heights, allowing each table to work as an individual side or coffee table or as part of a layered arrangement.
The lower H30 version measures 71 x 47 x 30 cm, creating a wider surface with the proportions of a compact coffee table. The taller H42 version measures 50 x 39 x 42 cm and works naturally as a side table alongside a sofa or armchair.
Their complementary shapes are designed so that the two tables can interlock, creating a larger composition with changing levels, curves and colour combinations.
Designed to Interlock
One of the defining ideas behind Teatro Magico is the ability to combine the two sizes. Positioned together, the forms overlap and interlock to create a more complex central arrangement while retaining the flexibility of two individual tables.
This makes the collection particularly useful in contemporary seating areas where furniture needs to adapt. Use the taller table beside an armchair and the lower version in front of the sofa, or bring them together when a larger surface or stronger visual statement is required.
A Play of Colour and Reflection
The sculptural form is complemented by an extensive palette of Saba finishes. Options include subtle matt colours as well as highly reflective metallic-effect and artisanal brushed finishes, allowing Teatro Magico to move from quiet and tonal to considerably more expressive.
Colours within the collection include Silk Grey, Nude, Caramel, Jade, Raspberry, Sapphire, Quartz Grey, Coral Brown and White. Choosing two contrasting finishes can emphasise the interlocking composition, while closely related tones create a softer and more architectural effect.
From Side Table to Living-Room Centrepiece
The taller H42 Teatro Magico works naturally beside a sofa or armchair, providing an easily reached surface for a drink, book or decorative object. The wider H30 version has a lower, more relaxed stance and can sit comfortably at the centre of a seating arrangement.
Used together, the pair becomes more sculptural, introducing a deliberate interplay of height, colour and form. This flexibility makes Teatro Magico especially suited to interiors where occasional furniture is expected to contribute to the overall design rather than simply provide a surface.
Italian Design with a More Playful Character
Teatro Magico reflects Saba Italia’s distinctive approach to furniture: combining functionality with softer forms, expressive colour and a more playful interpretation of contemporary Italian design.
Its unusual proportions make it particularly effective alongside simple upholstered sofas and armchairs, where the curving silhouette can introduce contrast against straighter architectural lines.
