A Sculptural Dining Table by Saba Italia
The Saba Italia Teatro Magico Table brings a distinctly sculptural approach to the dining room. Designed by 967arch, its clean tabletop is balanced by a flowing base that gives the table a softer and more expressive architectural character.
Rather than treating the base as a purely structural element, Teatro Magico makes it the visual heart of the design. The curved forms create changing areas of light and shadow, giving the table a different presence as the room and lighting change around it.

Teatro Magico was designed by architecture studio 967arch for Saba Italia and introduced in 2022. The table was conceived as a meeting point within both residential and contract interiors, combining everyday function with a much more theatrical approach to form.
Its sculptural base reinterprets the softness and movement of fabric through a solid architectural form, reflecting Saba’s wider design language while giving the dining table a strong identity of its own.
Introducing the Havana Finish
The Teatro Magico collection now includes Havana, a deep and enveloping new colour created to bring greater warmth and depth to the table’s sculptural form.
Havana has a sophisticated tonal quality that works naturally with timber, stone, neutral upholstery and richer colour palettes, allowing it to feel distinctive without becoming difficult to integrate into the wider interior.
The Havana finish is available with both the lacquered MDF version and the satin back-painted glass version of Teatro Magico.
Lacquered MDF, Glass or Marble
Teatro Magico can be specified with three different tabletop constructions, allowing the same design to take on very different expressions.
The lacquered version uses a 30 mm MDF top for a clean, monochromatic appearance. The glass version uses 12 mm tempered satin back-painted glass with an anti-scratch treatment over a 20 mm composite wood support, creating a more refined and subtly reflective surface.
For a more material-led expression, selected sizes are also available with a 20 mm marble top supported by a 20 mm MDF plate.
A Base Inspired by Softness and Movement
The defining feature of Teatro Magico is its curving base. Made from lacquered rigid polyurethane and weighted internally with painted iron ballast plates, the structure combines a visually fluid appearance with the stability required of a substantial dining table.
Its flowing surfaces create a play of highlights and shadows, allowing the base to appear softer and more dynamic than its solid construction might suggest.
Round Tables for More Intimate Dining
Teatro Magico is available as a round dining table in both 120 cm and 150 cm diameters, creating a more sociable setting where everyone sits naturally around a central point.
The 120 cm version is particularly suited to more compact dining areas, while the 150 cm table offers greater surface space and a more substantial presence within an open-plan kitchen or dining room.
Oval Tables for Larger Dining Spaces
For larger rooms and more generous entertaining, Teatro Magico is also available in oval versions measuring 220 cm, 240 cm and 280 cm in length, each with a 120 cm depth.
The elongated oval shape provides generous seating capacity while retaining the softness and flowing character that defines the collection.
United or Separate Bases
Selected oval versions can be configured with the sculptural base elements positioned together or separated, changing the character of the table beneath the top.
United bases create a more concentrated central form, while separated bases allow the curves to become more visible across the full length of the table. The 280 cm version is specified with separate bases.
Made for Gathering
Despite its sculptural character, Teatro Magico remains a table designed around the act of gathering. Its range of dimensions makes it suitable for everything from smaller dining rooms to large residential and contract settings.
The restrained tabletop keeps the dining surface practical and uncluttered, while the expressive base brings personality to the room even when the table is not being used.
