The Blomus CALMA Lantern combines the solidity of concrete with the visual lightness of glass, creating a candle holder that feels architectural by day and beautifully atmospheric once illuminated.
Its clean cylindrical form keeps the design deliberately understated, allowing the material contrast and warm glow of the candle to become the focus.

CALMA was designed by Nina Thöming for Blomus, bringing together simple geometry, balanced proportions and practical everyday function.
The design is intentionally restrained, making CALMA easy to introduce into a wide range of interiors while still giving it a distinctive material character.
A Solid Concrete Base
The substantial concrete base gives CALMA a grounded, architectural appearance and provides a stable foundation for the glass cylinder above.
Its mineral texture works naturally alongside timber, stone, metal and neutral textiles, making the lantern particularly effective within contemporary and material-led interiors.
Light Grey with Clear Glass
The Light Grey version combines a pale concrete base with clear glass, creating the lighter and more understated expression within the collection.
The transparent cylinder leaves the flame clearly visible and allows the candlelight to spread gently into the surrounding space.
Steel Grey with Smoke Glass
For a darker and more atmospheric look, Steel Grey is paired with smoke-coloured glass.
The tinted glass subtly filters the candlelight, creating a softer glow while giving the lantern a stronger visual presence even when the candle is not lit.
Three Sizes to Choose From
CALMA is available at RB12 in Small, Medium and Large, allowing the scale of the lantern to be chosen around its position within the room.
The Small version measures approximately 10 x 10 x 14 cm, while the Medium is approximately 12 cm across and 19–20 cm high depending on finish. The Large measures approximately 15 x 15 x 22 cm.
Beautiful Individually, Stronger in a Group
A single CALMA lantern creates a simple pool of candlelight on a console, sideboard or dining table, but the three different heights also make the collection particularly effective when grouped together.
Combining Small, Medium and Large versions introduces variation in height while repeating the same concrete-and-glass design language throughout the arrangement.
For Tea Lights and Pillar Candles
Depending on the chosen size, CALMA can accommodate tea lights or appropriately sized pillar candles, giving you flexibility over the intensity and appearance of the light.
The glass cylinder surrounds the candle and helps shield the flame while keeping it visible as part of the design. Candles are not supplied with the lantern.
Create Atmosphere Throughout the Home
CALMA works naturally on dining tables, sideboards, consoles and windowsills, bringing a warmer and more intimate layer of light into the room.
Its restrained form means it can sit comfortably alongside decorative objects during the day before taking on a completely different character once the candle is lit in the evening.

The Blomus CALMA Lantern is designed for indoor use only. Position it within living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, hallways or other interior spaces where its combination of candlelight and material texture can be enjoyed.

Caring for the Blomus CALMA Lantern
Blomus recommends hand cleaning the CALMA Lantern. Wipe the concrete and glass surfaces gently with a soft damp cloth when required.
Avoid abrasive pads or aggressive cleaning products that could mark the concrete or glass surfaces.
The light play of the candles is graceful and relaxing. Perfect for living rooms or summer evenings in the garden. Suitable for indoor use only. Candle not included.
