Sculptural Solid-Wood Design
The Tamo Design Citrus Coffee Table is part of a sculptural table collection created by Belgian designer Sylvain Willenz for TAMO. Soft curves, carefully balanced proportions and solid timber come together in a design that feels expressive without becoming overly decorative.
The defining feature is its central pedestal. Seven curved ribs form the base, creating a rhythmic structure inspired by the segmented form of citrus fruit. As light moves across the surface, the individual sections become more or less pronounced, giving the table a changing character throughout the day.
Designed by Sylvain Willenz
Citrus was the first collection Sylvain Willenz designed for TAMO. When developing the original table, Willenz wanted to create a central pedestal that felt sculptural while retaining a sense of visual lightness.
Rather than producing the base as one heavy solid volume, he divided it into a series of individual fins. This construction gives Citrus its distinctive silhouette while creating the seven-ribbed form that has become the defining feature of the collection.
The original idea developed into a complete family of tables, including the dining table and two smaller versions designed for coffee and side-table use.
Solid Oak and Ash Construction
Citrus is made from solid oak or ash wood and finished with lacquer, allowing the natural grain and texture of the timber to remain an important part of the design.
The table is available in four finishes: Natural Oak, Dark Oak, Black Ash and Burgundy Ash. Natural and Dark Oak emphasise the warmth and grain of the timber, while Black and Burgundy create a stronger, more graphic interpretation of the same sculptural form.
This material-led approach reflects the wider philosophy of Tamo Design, whose furniture combines architectural simplicity with solid wood, considered proportions and a strong respect for craftsmanship.
Two Heights, Two Different Expressions
The Citrus Coffee Table is available in two sizes, allowing it to work within different living-room arrangements.
The Low version measures 60cm in diameter and 40cm high, creating a broader surface suited to the centre of a seating arrangement.
The High version measures 46cm in diameter and 48cm high, giving it a more compact footprint and making it equally effective beside a sofa or armchair.
Used together, the difference in diameter and height creates a layered composition while allowing the repeated ribbed bases to connect the two pieces visually.
Designed Around Production
Although Citrus has the presence of a sculptural object, its construction was developed with manufacturing and everyday use in mind. Willenz’s interest in production and materials informed the way the pedestal was divided into individual sections, creating a design that could be manufactured and assembled efficiently without losing its expressive quality.
The tables are supplied in a format designed for straightforward assembly, combining the visual impact of a sculptural central base with a rational approach to production and logistics.
A Coffee Table for Contemporary Interiors
Citrus works particularly well where natural materials and strong silhouettes are used sparingly. The rounded top softens rooms dominated by straight architectural lines, while the central pedestal allows the table to feel substantial without the visual interruption of four conventional legs.
Pair the Natural Oak finish with soft neutrals and textured upholstery for a warmer interior, or use Burgundy or Black Ash to introduce a stronger graphic accent beside a lighter designer sofa.

Caring for the Tamo Design Citrus Coffee Table
To preserve the lacquered timber finish, wipe the table with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it afterwards. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and prolonged contact with moisture. Coasters should be used beneath hot or wet items to help protect the surface over time.
