The Bolia Scribe Table Lamp takes the familiar functionality of a classic work lamp and refines it into a slimmer, more sculptural design for contemporary interiors.
Its elegant proportions allow Scribe to feel decorative enough for a bedside table or living space while retaining the directional lighting needed for reading and focused work.
Designed by Studio Finna
Scribe was designed by Finnish design studio Studio Finna, founded by Anni Pitkäjärvi and Hanna-Kaarina Heikkilä.
Their approach gives the familiar work-lamp typology a more refined contemporary character, balancing practical adjustability with a clean and sculptural silhouette.
Adjustable Light Where You Need It
The Scribe Table Lamp features an adjustable shade, allowing the direction of the light to be changed around the task or mood.
Angle it towards a book for evening reading, direct it across a desk for more focused illumination or reposition the shade when a softer pool of light is preferred.
A Sculptural 41 cm Silhouette
At 41 cm high and approximately 8.5 cm wide, Scribe has a tall, slender profile that provides useful lighting without occupying unnecessary surface space.
The compact 8 cm base makes it particularly easy to position on smaller bedside tables, desks, consoles and side tables where a wider lamp could feel intrusive.
Four Distinctive Iron Finishes
RB12 offers the Bolia Scribe Table Lamp in Matt Black Painted Iron, Matt Grey Painted Iron, Matt Creme Painted Iron and Matt Antique Brass Plated Iron.
Matt Black gives the lamp its strongest architectural presence, Matt Grey offers a softer industrial tone and Matt Creme works naturally within lighter, more neutral interiors. Matt Antique Brass introduces warmth while retaining the same clean contemporary form.
For the Bedside
Scribe makes an especially effective bedside lamp because its narrow footprint leaves more room for books and everyday essentials while the adjustable shade can be directed towards the bed for reading.
The switch is positioned directly on the lamp base, keeping control conveniently within reach from the bedside.
A Refined Desk Lamp
The same directional design makes Scribe equally suited to a home office or writing desk.
Its sculptural shape feels more considered than conventional task lighting, allowing a workspace to remain part of the wider interior rather than feeling purely functional.
Create a Focused Reading Light
Position Scribe on a side table beside an armchair or sofa to create a dedicated reading light without the larger footprint of a floor lamp.
The ability to adjust the shade allows the light to be directed towards the page rather than illuminating the entire room, helping create a more intimate evening atmosphere.
E14 Light Source
Scribe uses an E14 light source with a maximum output of 25W. The bulb is not included, allowing the light source to be selected around the brightness and colour temperature preferred for the room.
The lamp can also be used with a dimmable bulb where the chosen light source and electrical setup support dimming.
