A Collection Inspired by the Hourglass
The Bolia Hour collection takes its inspiration from the unmistakable proportions of an hourglass, translating the idea of passing time into a family of softly sculptural stoneware objects.
Curved profiles and narrow waists give each piece a recognisable silhouette while allowing the different vases, bowl, candleholder and flowerpot to sit naturally together as one collection.
Designed by 201 Design Studio
Hour was designed by Romanian studio 201 Design Studio, whose approach combines simplicity, functionality and recognisable forms.
The hourglass reference gives the collection a distinctive identity without relying on unnecessary decoration, allowing proportion and material to carry the design.
Durable Stoneware
The Hour collection is made from durable stoneware, giving the pieces a reassuringly substantial feel while retaining the softer visual character of ceramic.
Stoneware also allows the collection to combine smooth sculptural shapes with the tactile surface treatment that gives Hour much of its character.
Matt Outside, Glossy Inside
One of Hour’s defining details is the contrast between its matt exterior and glossy glazed interior.
The matt outer surface keeps the pieces calm and tactile, while the brighter interior glaze catches light and creates a subtle change in finish when viewed from above.
Hour Flowerpot
The Hour Flowerpot is the broadest vase-like form within the RB12 collection, measuring approximately Ø16 x H29.5 cm.
Its wider opening makes it suited to greenery and planting while retaining the narrow central profile that connects it visually to the rest of the Hour family.
Three Hour Vase Proportions
RB12 also offers Hour in three slimmer vase proportions, giving the same hourglass-inspired form subtly different heights and widths.

Use a single vase for a restrained arrangement or combine different heights to create a more sculptural display even when the pieces are left empty.
Hour Bowl
The Hour Bowl broadens the same hourglass language into a low, generous decorative form measuring approximately Ø25 x H15 cm.
Its lower proportions make it especially effective on a dining table, coffee table or sideboard where the sculptural outline can be appreciated from several angles.
Hour Candleholder
The compact Hour Candleholder reduces the collection’s familiar silhouette to approximately Ø8.5 x H8.4 cm.
Its small scale makes it easy to group alongside the larger Hour pieces, adding candlelight and another level of height to a table, shelf or decorative arrangement.
Finished in Sand
RB12 currently offers the Hour collection in Sand, a warm neutral tone that reinforces the natural character of the stoneware.
The restrained colour works particularly well with timber, stone, soft neutral upholstery and other ceramic objects without competing with flowers, foliage or surrounding furniture.
Designed to Work Individually or as a Group
The consistent material, colour and hourglass-inspired proportions make the different Hour pieces particularly effective when used together.
Mix a tall and low vase with the bowl or candleholder to create a layered composition, or use a single piece where a quieter sculptural accent is preferred.
Sculptural Even Without Flowers
Hour does not depend on flowers or foliage to give it presence. The narrow centre, rounded volumes and changing proportions allow each piece to work as a decorative object in its own right.
That makes the collection particularly useful on open shelving, consoles and sideboards where the ceramic form can remain part of the interior between arrangements.

Caring for the Bolia Hour Collection
Bolia recommends cleaning Hour stoneware with mild detergent, water and a soft brush. Avoid abrasive cleaning methods that could damage the glazed or matt surfaces.
