A Linear Smoked-Glass Pendant Light
The Bolia Orb Pendant arranges perfectly rounded glass shades along a long horizontal structure, creating a sculptural pendant designed to work naturally above dining tables, kitchen islands and other elongated surfaces.
At 115 cm wide, Orb has considerably more presence than a conventional single pendant, yet the transparency and reflective quality of the glass keep the overall composition visually light. The result sits somewhere between a linear pendant and a contemporary chandelier.
Designed by 365° North
Orb was designed by Danish studio 365° North. The studio’s approach focuses on making shape, colour, material and function work together in a way that remains visually clear and easy to understand.
That thinking is particularly visible in Orb. The design relies on a simple vocabulary of circles and a straight horizontal bar, allowing repetition, glass and proportion to create the decorative impact rather than adding unnecessary ornament.
Smoke-Grey Glass Spheres
The shades are made from smoke-grey glass, giving the pendant greater depth than completely clear glass while preserving the lightness that makes glass particularly effective in suspended lighting.
When switched off, the rounded shades act as reflective decorative objects within the room. Once illuminated, the light interacts with the coloured glass and repeated spherical forms to create a more atmospheric expression.
Metal Finish Options
RB12 currently lists the Orb Pendant with a choice of metal finishes, allowing the supporting structure to either blend quietly into the room or create a warmer decorative contrast.

The black version creates the strongest graphic contrast against the smoked glass, while antique brass brings a warmer metallic note to the composition.
Designed for Dining Tables and Kitchen Islands
The 115 cm width makes this version of Orb particularly well suited to rectangular dining tables and kitchen islands. Rather than concentrating the light at one small central point, its elongated form visually follows the furniture beneath it.
This can be especially useful in open-plan interiors. Suspending a linear pendant above the dining table helps define the dining zone without adding walls or physical divisions, while above an island it reinforces the length of the work surface and gives the kitchen a stronger visual centre.

The horizontal Orb Pendant measures 115 cm wide × 35.7 cm high. Each glass shade has a diameter of approximately 15 cm.

The three-metre textile cord provides useful flexibility when positioning the pendant within rooms of different ceiling heights.
E14 Lighting and Dimming
Bolia specifies E14 lamp holders for the Orb Pendant, with a recommended maximum light-source rating of 25W.
The light is dimmable when compatible dimmable bulbs are used and the electrical installation supports dimming. This allows Orb to provide stronger illumination when required before being softened for evening dining and more atmospheric use.
Light sources are not included according to Bolia’s current specification.
Linear Pendant or Orb Chandelier?
The wider Orb family allows the same glass-and-metal language to be used at very different scales. This 115 cm pendant is the more linear option, making it particularly suited to rectangular tables and islands.
For rooms that need a broader central composition rather than a straight horizontal fitting, the Bolia Orb Chandelier uses the same rounded smoked-glass language in a circular chandelier format.
