The AYTM CASTELLUM Side Table combines a natural stone tabletop with a slender steel frame to create a piece that feels architectural, sculptural and quietly refined.
Its circular proportions and carefully balanced construction give CASTELLUM a strong visual identity without making the table feel heavy or overly decorative.

CASTELLUM was designed by Henrik Johannes Drecker for AYTM. The collection draws inspiration from the monumental architecture of Grundtvigs Kirke in Copenhagen, translating its sense of structure, proportion and calm into a much smaller piece of furniture.
The result is a side table that feels considered from every angle, combining simple geometry with a more expressive sculptural detail.
Inspired by Grundtvigs Kirke
The inspiration for CASTELLUM comes from Grundtvigs Kirke, one of Copenhagen’s most distinctive architectural landmarks.
Its influence can be seen in the table’s sense of verticality, symmetry and restrained ornament, while the spherical detail introduces a softer focal point within the otherwise structured composition.
Natural Stone Top
CASTELLUM is available with either a travertine or marble tabletop, depending on the selected finish.
The Light Sand version is paired with travertine, bringing warmth and natural variation to the design, while the Black version uses black marble for a darker and more dramatic expression.
Because both travertine and marble are natural materials, variations in colour, veining and surface character are part of the individuality of each table.
A Sculptural Steel Frame
The stone top is supported by a steel frame that gives CASTELLUM its clean, architectural outline.
A curved vertical element connects the different parts of the design, while the decorative sphere provides a recognisable detail that links CASTELLUM to the wider collection.
Compact Ø40 cm Proportions
CASTELLUM measures 40 cm in diameter and stands 60 cm high, giving it a compact footprint that works naturally beside sofas, armchairs and beds.
Its taller side-table height keeps the stone surface within easy reach while allowing the table to occupy very little floor space.
From Living Room to Bedroom
CASTELLUM is designed to work across different areas of the home. Beside a sofa or lounge chair, it provides a refined surface for drinks, books and decorative objects.
Its 60 cm height also makes it a natural alternative to a conventional bedside table, particularly in bedrooms where a lighter and more sculptural piece of furniture is preferred.
Light Sand Travertine or Black Marble
The CASTELLUM Side Table is available in two distinct material combinations, allowing the same design to take on very different personalities.
Light Sand with travertine creates a softer and more natural expression, pairing especially well with cream upholstery, oak and warm neutral interiors.
Black with black marble gives CASTELLUM a stronger and more graphic character, making it particularly effective in darker, more architectural interior schemes.
A Small Table with Strong Presence
Although compact in scale, CASTELLUM has enough material contrast and sculptural detail to become a focal point within the room.
The combination of stone, steel and the distinctive spherical detail gives it more presence than a conventional occasional table while keeping the overall design refined and easy to place.

Caring for the AYTM CASTELLUM Side Table
For everyday cleaning, wipe the frame and stone surface gently with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth where necessary.
Travertine and marble are natural stone materials and should not be cleaned with acidic products such as vinegar or acidic detergents.
Wipe away spills promptly, particularly acidic or strongly coloured liquids, to help reduce the risk of staining or marking the stone surface.
