Description
The Void Surface Light is a study in semi-precious metals and rhythmic geometry. By referencing the double-walled construction of a vacuum flask, Tom Dixon has created a light that appears as a solid, polished object but houses a hidden “void” where the light reflects and refracts against the internal metal curves.
Each Void light is a result of a complex manufacturing process. Pure metal sheets are pressed, spun, and brazed to form the distinct double-walled shade. The final form is then lathed and hand-polished to achieve a bold, high-shine finish. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that the Void is a striking addition to any surface, maintaining its refined detailing both when off and when illuminated.
To suit a wide range of interior palettes, the Void Surface Light is available in three iconic finishes:
-
Silver: Crafted from Stainless Steel for a crisp, clinical, and ultra-modern aesthetic.
-
Gold: Made from Brass to bring a warm, opulent, and classic architectural presence.
-
Copper: A signature Dixon material that offers a rich, glowing, and contemporary character.
Designed for flexibility, the Void works equally well on walls and ceilings. In a hallway, it acts as a sculptural beacon; in a living room or commercial lounge, it provides a calm yet distinctive character without overwhelming the interior. The high-shine finish allows the light to “disappear” by reflecting its surroundings, while simultaneously standing out through its bold proportions and clean lines.
-
Material: Pure Stainless Steel, Brass, or Copper.
-
Finish: Polished Mirror.
-

-
