Studiopepe’s latest project for Saba, Simposio, is a dialogue between the past and the present. Inspired by the “harmonious synthesis” of pure, sculptural shapes, this sofa system is designed to be perceived as timeless—a domestic arena where hospitality and aesthetic mystery converge.
Simposio moves beyond the traditional sofa through its interplay of rounded and linear elements. Every detail has been reconsidered: the foot structure transcends its formal function to become a distinctive design element, specifically crafted to evoke the sensuality of a pressure point on fabric.
In a display of technical mastery, Simposio features bold upholstery that eliminates the majority of visible seams. The profile is defined instead by a singular side fold, a sophisticated nod to the draped elegance of a Greek peplum. This minimalist approach emphasizes the sofa’s sinuous curves and fluid silhouette.
